Lauderdale, Florida, to Sooke, British Columbia...

Even though we started the drive in Ft. Lauderdale, the thought of taking any photos eluded us, at least until we took this one. This was either taken in either North Carolina or Tennessee, at a rest area. We were on our way to Dollywood, in Pidgeon Forge, Tennessee, so maybe we were on the border. The important thing is that we both look really cute in this photo and it was somewhere, somewhere where we looked really cute! Stop asking questions and just move on!!

Here's where my dreams were shattered and Country Line-Danced over

All because I thought that the time zone changed at the Tennessee border, which, FYI, it does not. It's somewhere closer to Nashville. Anyway, I thought that we had 1 1/2 hours at the park, but we only had 1/2 hour, and they wouldn't give us a discount on the tickets ($48.00 buckaroos), nor would they sell us their 1 hour shopping passes ($20.00 per person deposit), because we didn't have a full 1 hour to shop. So, the moral of the story? They do not think "outside of the box" at the ticket boxes in Dollywood. And yes, thank you, I am still bitter!

Moving on, but not emotionally, I was much too upset to stay in Pidgeon Forge that night, so, leaving behind the flashing lights that read, "Eww Wee!", and the "As Seen On TV" stores on every block, we proceeded on to Nashville...But then we stopped and stayed for the night at the Holiday Inn Express right next to...wait for it...Lorretta Lynn's Ranch & County Kitchen! I got a t-shirt that says I'm staff, so it helped heal my "Dollywood" wounds.

Once we ate our fill of grits & bacon and biscuits & gravy, we set-off to see the King, in a little known place named Graceland...

But when we arrived, we realized that the tour and the line for the tour were too long, so we bought some sovegniers and headed back down the road. We're really bad tourists, because we never want to wait for guided tours or pay the price to get in anywhere...but I love to buy me some crap-o-la from the "waste your money here" shops!

Now I must go, as I have cramps & I'm feeling sorry for myself...

Posting #1

I was inspired to do this by our friend, Ninda, because her website rocks!
